Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are rapidly advancing in various fields; however, most AI technologies and methods have primarily focused on English text.
This webinar will address how they intersect with language acquisition, development, and governance, particularly regarding American Sign Language (ASL) and other signed languages.
We will share insights and challenges on how a strong educational foundation can significantly contribute to the quality of AI and ML applications for accessibility while promoting linguistic equity and recognizing the importance of community-driven language ownership.
